Meet Robert Beers – A Working-Class Voice for South Carolina’s 1st District

About Robert Lee Beers III

Candidate for U.S. Congress | South Carolina's 1st District

My name is Robert Lee Beers III, and I’m running for Congress to restore something this country has forgotten: representation for the working people—not the wealthy elite, not the corporate lobbyists, but the everyday Americans who get up, work hard, and still struggle to get by.

I was born at the naval hospital in Charleston, South Carolina, on January 5, 1985, and though I spent most of my life in Ohio, I’ve lived and worked across the U.S., gaining a real-world perspective on how this country is failing its own people. I worked for FedEx Express in North Charleston, where I gave my all—until a back injury put me out of work. After a long year of injections, physical therapy, and pain, I was left with permanent medical restrictions. I’m now fighting through the broken workers' comp system, with a looming settlement that will dump all future medical costs on me and leave me virtually unemployable.

This situation would break a lot of people. Truthfully, it nearly broke me. But I decided to fight instead—and that fight led me here, to run for Congress.

Why I'm Running

Because I know what it’s like to wake up every day and wonder how you’ll make it.
Because I know the pain of being sidelined while trying to support a family.
Because I refuse to accept a system where big donors and corporations own Washington, and workers are forgotten.

I believe Congress should be the voice of the people—and right now, it isn’t. It’s the voice of the highest bidder. That’s what I want to change.

What I Stand For

  • Better Wages & Economic Fairness
Every full-time worker should earn enough to live. I support a tiered minimum wage based on family size and age, with automatic inflation adjustments so no one gets left behind.

  • Affordable Healthcare & Dental Access
Health insurance shouldn’t leave people drowning in medical bills. I support universal coverage for essential services, including mental health and dental, with strict rules against price-gouging and hidden charges.

  • Social Security & Disability Reform
Workers pay in—so they should be able to count on it. I’ll fight to protect and modernize Social Security and ensure people with real injuries and limitations aren’t thrown away.

  • Veterans First, Always
We have homeless veterans in the richest country on Earth—that’s a disgrace. I’ll ensure combat veterans receive lifetime care and full pensions, and Gold Star families get sustained support if a parent is lost in service.

  • Real Education for the Real World
Schools should teach life skills—voting, credit, financial literacy, and career training. I’ll push for education reforms that prepare kids for the real world, not just tests.

  • A Smarter Approach to Climate & Energy
I believe in science over spin. I support green energy progress but also realistic timelines that don’t punish working families or vacationers who can't charge a car every 200 miles.

  • Put America First—For Real
We’re sending billions overseas while our bridges crumble, our dams leak, and our own people live in tents. That has to stop. We need to invest in America first—in infrastructure, FEMA, cybersecurity, and local jobs.

  • Crack Down on Scams & Corporate Abuse
Enough with robocalls, data abuse, and price-gouging. I’ll work to strengthen consumer protection laws, regulate spam calls, and enforce digital privacy rights.

  • Tech for Good
I support a unified national health record system (with patient privacy) that allows AI to train on anonymized data—helping us find cures and predict health risks while ensuring no one's records are deleted or lost.

I'm Not a Politician—I'm One of You

I’m not running with a war chest of corporate money.
I’m not polished, and I don’t pretend to have all the answers.
But I have something Washington has lost: honesty, heart, and the will to fight for working people.

I’ve lived paycheck to paycheck.
I’ve been hurt, stuck in systems that didn’t care.
And I know this: the American Dream is slipping away unless we stand up and fix it together.

Help Me Fight For Us

South Carolina’s 1st District deserves more than soundbites—we deserve results.
I won’t stop until we fix this broken system from the inside.

✅ Better wages
✅ Stronger healthcare
✅ Veteran justice
✅ Real education
✅ Fiscal responsibility without raising taxes

Let’s put Congress back in the hands of “We the People.”
