Education & Equity: Ending Student Hunger and Funding Schools Everywhere

Every Child Deserves a Full Plate and a Real Education

Today in District 1—and across the nation—our students are falling behind. Schools in low-income areas lack funding, hunger undermines learning, and local disparities are widening the opportunity gap. As your candidate, I believe it’s not just our responsibility but our duty to fully fund schools, eliminate child hunger, and lift every student to the same starting line.

🚨 Why Now?

When hunger enters the classroom, learning suffers—and nobody wins.

💡 My Plan to Strengthen Education

  1. Universal Free Meals at School

  2. Targeted Funding for Underperforming Schools

  3. Level the Playing Field Nationally

  4. Support Teachers & Staff

    • Boost recruitment and retention with classroom grants, loan forgiveness, and professional development.

    • Ensure educators—our front-line mentors—have the tools to teach and inspire.

🚀 What This Means for District 1

  • No student goes hungry—every child receives meals at school, every day.

  • Rural, urban, and suburban schools alike get the resources they need.

  • Teachers get support, families get peace of mind, and communities get stronger.

AI Job Disruption: Why We Must Restore Security Nets Now

Artificial intelligence is reshaping our economy—and not always for the better. Right now, AI is automating hundreds of thousands of jobs, including entry-level white-collar and routine service roles. If we don’t act, many hardworking Americans could soon find themselves jobless or stuck in lower-paying gigs. Here’s what this means—and what we must do to protect our future.

🚨 A Warning from the Front Lines

⚠️ What’s at Stake

  • Rising economic inequality with job displacement hitting skilled workers—and potentially sparking civil unrest .

  • Underutilized workers struggling for lower-paying roles in gig or service sectors.

  • Reduced tax revenue as fewer wage-earners pay income tax—threatening Social Security and funding for critical safety nets.

What We Must Do—Now

  1. Strengthen Safety Nets

    • Expand unemployment benefits and SNAP until we secure new job pathways.

    • Pilot a universal basic income (UBI) funded by AI-driven corporate taxation.

  2. Invest in Reskilling & Education

    • Launch federal grants for AI/tech training in community colleges and trade schools.

    • Prioritize skilled-trade careers—building on the trend toward vocational resilience .

  3. Tax AI Profits

    • Implement a tax on AI-generated corporate revenues, directing proceeds into a Sovereign AI Fund to support displaced workers .

  4. Guarantee Public Job Programs

    • Expand federal work programs focused on infrastructure, caregiving, and environmental resilience—areas where human judgment can't be replaced.

  5. Regulate & Audit AI Spending

    • Require impact assessments before government agencies deploy AI (borrow from Deloitte’s recommendations) .

    • Prioritize responsible AI with transparency and oversight.

🌟 Robert Beers: A Smart, Responsible Vision

As a candidate for District 1, I’m determined to prepare our community for the AI-driven future:

  • Fight for AI profit taxes to fund safety nets and training.

  • Invest in rural tech training, broadband, and skilled-coaching centers.

  • Ensure careers in trades and caring professions are elevated.

  • Demand responsible AI deployment in government—no more surprise layoffs via automation.

If we act in time, AI can be a tool that empowers—not replaces—American workers. But if we ignore the warning signs, we risk falling behind.

We Have a Chance—But Not Much Time

AI disruption isn’t coming—it’s already here. We must choose now: move forward with bold solutions—or inherit a future of joblessness, inequality, and instability.

Vote Robert Beers for Congress—because I see the risks, and I know what we must do to fix it.

Paid Summer Harvest Jobs: Youth, College & Reentry for America’s Farms

Rebuilding Rural America: Youth, Students, & Reformed Offenders Replant the Harvest

As immigration crackdowns continue to threaten farm labor and farmers watch crops rotting in fields, it’s time for America to turn to its own communities—our young people, recent graduates, college students, and even non-violent offenders—to rebuild our harvest alongside farmers.

📚 1. Tap into America’s Youth & Students

  • Just like the 1940s “Bracero” alternative, we can offer paid summer agricultural programs for:

    • High school graduates,

    • College students (with federal loan credits and college credit),

    • Young adults needing skill-building experiences.

  • Benefits: fosters work ethic, innovation, networking, and spending money for youth—while helping farmers harvest on time.

🔁 2. Incentivize Academic & Skill Gains

  • College incentives: loan forgiveness, tuition credit, or internship stipends for students on farms.

  • Academic credit & scholarships via partnerships with institutions and USDA programs like AgDiscovery and 1890 Scholarships Eden Green+3USDA+3iGrow News+3Wikipedia+1NPR+1On Food Law.

✅ 3. Support Reentry, Not Punishment

  • Non-violent offenders and long-term unemployed individuals could work off debt or parole through farm labor.

  • Creates meaningful second chances and addresses labor shortages while providing stability and purpose.

🤝 4. Pilot Community Programs

  • Partner local FFA chapters, 4‑H groups, schools, colleges, and workforce agencies.

  • Fund through USDA grants or public-private partnerships—retraining dollars, rural development funds, farm subsidies.

🚜 5. Preserve Farmers, Stabilize Food Supply

  • With border enforcement disrupting immigrant labor, this plan steps in to prevent crop loss, stabilize prices, and protect national food securityiGrow News.

  • Keeps harvest on track and helps students understand the value of labor and community.

🌟 Win–Win for Our Communities

  • Youth and students gain responsibility, opportunity, and job-ready skills.

  • Local farmers get reliable, seasonal help to avoid waste.

  • Rural economies get stronger.

  • Nonviolent offenders find positive pathways back into society.

  • America ensures steady food production, despite immigration and labor challenges.
